Last night, I realised that long distance relationships & friendships could be nerve wreckingโฆ but there's always a way to bridge that gap ๐
So today's content is proudly sponsored by Critical thinking.
If you're ready to dive in, let's go!
In Defi, the first concept most individuals are exposed to is โmaking swapsโ
Stats show that:
In 2024:
- 6-7 people out of 10 have made a swap.
- 4-5 people out of 10 have bridged assets across different blockchain networks.
These estimates reflect the growing adoption of cryptocurrency and DeFi services.
However, our main focus is to shine light on the less used product ~ Bridges
Before we fudge ahead, I've got a quick question
Have you used a bridge before?
If you filled in no, lets get your bridging journey started
Firstly, what is Bridging all about?
Bridging in crypto refers to the process of transferring assets between different blockchain networks. It aims to enhance interoperability, allowing for data and asset transfers across various networks.
I love to look at it as an Interswap transaction with two different chains involved for example: you can change your USDC on Solana to USDC on Eclipse.
For you to achieve this, all you need is a crypto bridge and your $2 .
**The crypto bridge (**also known as a cross-chain) is the tool that gives you the power to transfer digital assets and information between the home chain and desired chain.
Easy peasy right?
Now, let's conduct our transaction, we'll run 2 transactions.
The first transaction would be to Eclipse & the second to Base. a video guide would be provided for easy relatability.
PS: My first random bridging experience which was about 18 months ago almost gave me a heart attack (I saw my $10 the next day in my wallet).
Moving on
To bridge from Solana to Eclipse, we would make use of โAll domains Bridgeโ: https://bridge.alldomains.id/
โClick on the Link above
โNavigate the wallet and Connect the Solana wallet
โInput the address of the recipient wallet
โPut in the amount to be bridged
โClick on Continue & sign the transaction in the wallet
Note:
A token on different chains tend to have different addresses so please do well to note that.
Now, to bridge from Eclipse โ Base, we would use the @Relay protocol: relay.link
Follow these steps:
โClick the link above
โConnect the wallet which you want to bridge from
โNext, either connect or paste the address of the recipient wallet
โInput the amount you need to bridge
โClick on Review and approve the transaction.
Your funds would land in no time ๐ค!
