As a crypto content writer, crypto Jargons are one of the greatest obstacles to a writer's desired content result.

Just as ambiguous words could cause a disconnect between a writer and readers, so do crypto jargon function.

Why?

Not all readers are crypto native.

I remember vividly the first Crypto article I read where the blockchain trilemma was discussed.

It read, “for a blockchain to function effectively, it has to possess a good rating in : Scalability, Security and Speed.”

As a layman, I would understand the security and speed aspect of the blockchain trilemma, but what about Scalability?

How do I relate to this when I haven't interacted? Good thing, when I read down, I saw:

Scalability refers to the ability of a network to handle an increasing number of transactions and users without compromising performance, security, or decentralization.

Is Simplicity Key?

My point exactly: 65 percent of crypto individuals are not well versed in Defi Concepts. As writers, we must break down seemingly complex concepts into easy bits.This way, your readers would connect with your write-ups and learn new concepts.

Let's say I want to introduce a project centered around yield trading:

❌Wrong approach:

→ Project XZ affords users yield trading opportunities. They have features like…

✅Correct approach :

→Project XZ onboards users to yield trading. This concept involves utilizing cryptocurrency assets to generate rewards in various forms, such as interest payments, staking rewards, and capital gains. You can look at it as trading your native currency in the market and investing it to make extra profits for you.

This way, you have not only written of the concept but related it to something non-crypto native users can easily fall back to.

What To Do?

Writing about Defi concepts should be easy.

→ Introduce and educate. This is the cheat code for proper delivery & possible adoption.

Defi Concepts could be complicated for writers too. Here's something to ease your work as a writer:

You could:

→ Use tools like OpenAI to break down concepts <what I use>

→ Use Grammarly to check if your sentence structure makes a lot of sense. The app helps to improve the connectivity of articles.

→ I call this killing two birds with one stone!

With these, every Defi Writer would not only write but write understandable articles.
